Problem does not exists with the excel sheets which we created usingĤ. The third party library does setup CheckCompatibility = true while using 2007 templates (Hence I posted it there after confirming it from them).ģ. We are using a third party library to create the output sheets through c# code. We have some excel templates built using 07 and some of them are built using 03.Ģ. Could you please clarify, has the file in question ever been saved in Excel That's three separate aspects you've mentioned that each suggest 2007 is involved, yet above you say it isn't. The Compatibility Pack is to enable 2000-2003 to open 2007 format files. You also said Is microsoft compatibility packs required here. Before you said CheckCompatibility = true is there. Normally specifically saving in Excel 97to2003 format is something you only do in 2007. You don't use/create 2007 at all? Now I'm getting really confused. I am just trying to understand why should Excel 2003 complain about opening a file which is in Excel97To2003 format compatibility mode?
I got an report from one of the users that was prompted with that error message while trying to open the file attached in the email "This file was created using a newer version of microsoft excel.
Most of them have Excel 2003 file installed at their workstations.ģ. We send the files(as email attachment) to multiple users. File is created in Excel 97to2003 format.Ģ. No, we don't use/create Excel 2007 at all.
